David's Comment: In Defense of Israel - The Nation People Love to Hate
1 John 5:19 The whole world lies under the influence of the evil one
The above verse explains why it is that down through the ages so many people have harbored a hatred for the Jewish people. Satan hates Israel. In fact Satan has always hated Israel. Satan hates everything God loves, but with Israel and the Jewish people, it is a double hatred. I believe it is because the evil one knows the truth about Israel. He knew that the Son of God would come to Israel the first time and so he inspired Herod to kill all of the Jewish boys under 2 years of age in a desperate attempt to abort the plan of God. And he knows that Israel is the only nation that the Son of God can possibly come to when He returns in the near future, to re-establish the Kingdom of God on the Earth.
The devil is an expert at manipulating human beings to carry out his wicked plans. Israel's history is a 3500 year saga of a succession of evil men who were inspired by the devil to destroy Israel and the Jewish people. Pharaoh, Haman, Antiochus Epiphanes, King Herod, and Adolf Hitler are the main culprits in Satan's anti-Israel line-up. We could add many of the so-called Church fathers, Martin Luther, Henry Ford. Yassar Arafat and Ahmedinejhad to that list. As end-time Kiwi evangelist & Bible teacher Barry Smith used to say, "the man dies, but the spirit moves on."
In the past it has only ever been one particular nation that has risen up to be Israel's "public enemy no 1" at any given time. However in our time, in an amazingly accurate fulfillment of Joel 3:1, we are witnessing a rapid & substantial rise in anti-Semitism in almost every nation in the world. I believe that my comments over the last 3 weeks about the Kingdom of God coming to Israel, reveals why this rise of hatred is occurring in our modern world which prides itself on inter-racial tolerance and going overboard to be "politically correct".
Of all the hatred based on race or religion, anti-Semitism makes the least sense. The Jewish people have given the world so much of the things that make our lives comfortable today - medicine, science, computers & mobile phones, art, literature, movies, music and other forms of entertainment.
The number of Jewish Nobel prize winners is totally disproportionate compared to the Jewish population. This demonically inspired anti-Jewish behaviour that we see all over the world today is totally irrational, without a realistic foundation, but as I wrote at the beginning it is understandable in the secular world considering 1 John 5:19.
What I do find hard to comprehend is why so many people who consider themselves to be Bible believing Christians seem to dislike, even hate the nation of Israel. I lay the blame for this sad state of affairs on Replacement Theology, and the lack of corrective teaching in Bible schools and seminaries, and from the hundreds of thousands of church pulpits on Sunday mornings. I often ask people "when was the last time their pastor gave a message about Israel ?" 99% of the time the answer is never. God says that Israel is the apple of His eye and that He is Zealous for Zion, and yet most of the people who say that they love God, dont give Israel a second thought. A shockingly high number of them show their hated by openly standing against Israel.
I praise the Lord for the remnant of true Believers who love the Lord, love & believe His Word and love Israel & the Jewish people. It was the first thing I did in the new year to listen to him. It is breathtaking indeed. So I spread the link among my friends and produced a weeks series of daily video messages following his teaching. It will be in the Swiss Christian internet site jesus.ch in the last week of January. And I also decided to preach in my church this Israel issue throughout this year. As you see, it had a great impact on me and, hopefully, my church. - Pastor Paul"

I also want to recommend you read this very to the point article by an extremely articulate British author and journalist. Melanie Phillips is Jewish but she is not a Messianic believer. She is one of the few media people who has not been deceived by the misinformation and outright lies about Israel, that the Muslims, the UN, EU, the US administration and the mainstream media have been incessantly flooding our minds with.

The Lord bless you as you bless Israel by standing in defense of her right to exist on the land given to the Jewish people by the God of Israel. Lets pray that Israel will turn back to their God. Do not be silent, but share this with your fellow Christians, share it with your pastors, and with anyone you have a chance to speak to. Lets also pray for that breakthrough to the Muslims, and please remember to pray for all of the soldiers in the IDF -they are defending and fighting for the Kingdom of God.

1. Israeli Soldier Dead 8 Wounded as Gaza Violence Escalates Israel Today News Jan 9th
An Israeli soldier was killed and four other soldiers were wounded by friendly fire while battling Hamas terrorists on Friday night along the Gaza security fence, and area that is seeing a significant rise in violence. The soldiers spotted a Hamas cell planting bombs along the fence. A team of infantry soldiers advanced on the terrorists, while another team responded with artillery fire. An initial investigation suggested that one of the artillery shells went off target and hit the advancing infantry team. On Saturday, Palestinian terrorists operating out of the Gaza Strip fired four mortar shells at a kibbutz in southern Israel, wounding three Thai laborers working the fields there. Several hours later, three short-range missiles were fired from Gaza, wounding a truck driver whose windshield was shattered by the impact. A growing number of Israeli politicians, even those from the far left, are urging stronger Israeli military action against the Gaza terrorists. They warn that Israel’s deterrence is eroding, and Hamas is becoming increasingly bold in its action.
Please pray for the rapid recovery of the wounded soldiers and for protection over all IDF personel at the Gaza border
2. Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat Declares That Jerusalem Will Never be Divided ICEJ News Jan 11th
Jerusalem mayor Nir Barkat has unequivocally declared that the capital of the Jewish State will never be divided to allow the eastern side to become the capital of a future Palestinian state. "It's not going to happen, it's not natural, it's the wrong thing to do from any perspective," Barkat said during a recent visit to New York. "Not only for the Jewish people, but for the world, it would be a big mistake to go that route, in advance we know that there is not one example of a working model of a split city. Therefore it is not on the table." Regarding the demolition on Sunday of the Shepherd hotel in the capital’s Shiek Jarrah neighborhood Barkat said the building was "owned legally, by Jewish owners, they have asked to develop the land according to the zoning code, with no extra demands or requests. They have been granted permission like they would be in any city, in any country in the world. Anybody trying to freeze by race -- its anti-constitutional, it is double standards and it is not acceptable."

3. Other Countries to Recognise Palestinian State by Mid February ICEJ News Jan 9th
Israel fears that most, if not all, Latin American countries will have recognized a Palestinian state by mid-February. On Friday, Chile became the fifth Latin American country in the last month to recognize a Palestinian state. It followed recognition of Palestinian statehood by Brazil, Argentina, Bolivia and Ecuador. Uruguay was expected to make a similar declaration in the coming weeks. One Israeli official said we expect that all the [Latin American] countries who have already recognized a PA state to put pressure on those who have not done so,” the official said.
About 100 other countries world wide have recognized Palestinian statehood most after Palestinians declared "independence" in 1988, and a few others, mostly former Soviet republics, did so after the 1993 Oslo peace accords. In recent years, Venezuela (2005) and Costa Rica (2008) also provided recognition. According to the Foreign Ministry, Cuba and Nicaragua also gave past recognition to a Palestinian state. Palestinians in the last month have preferred to push for unilateral recognition of their state rather than engage in direct negotiations with Israel for a two-state solution. Chilean Foreign Minister Alfredo Moreno said his country is following UN resolutions with its decision to recognize the existence of the state of Palestine as "a free, independent and sovereign state, coexisting in peace with the State of Israel." Chile, whose Palestinian population of about 400,000 is among the largest outside the Arab world, also had been lobbied intensely by Israeli representatives. Prime Minister Netanyahu called the Chilean president a number of weeks ago and asked him not to take such a stand.
Palestinian Authority Foreign Minister Riad Malki recently told The Associated Press that his government’s aim was to persuade more countries to endorse the 1967 boundaries. Separately on Saturday, the PA renewed its call to the EU to recognize a Palestinian state on the 1967 borders.

4. Jerusalem Opens Holy Site for Jewish Prayer - Muslims Threaten Strong Response Ha Aretz News Jan 14th
The Jerusalem Development Authority recently removed scaffolding in the Muslim Quarter of the Old City, disrupting the sensitive status quo in the area around the Western Wall. The authority, controlled by the Jerusalem municipality and by several ministries, removed scaffolding from under an arch supporting Palestinian homes in the Little Western Wall plaza (also known as the Little Kotel plaza ). The move was carried out to make more room in the plaza for Jewish prayer and other events. The courtyard faces a small of section of the western support wall of the Temple Mount. The largest open section of that same wall is known as the Western Wall.
Although the Israeli government never declared the Little Kotel plaza as a holy site, it is considered the second closest spot (after the Western Wall Tunnel ) to the "Holy of Holies," which was the most sacred place for Jews in the temple. The right-wing organization Ateret Cohanim, headed by Rabbi Shlomo Aviner, has been demanding for years that the scaffolding be removed to make room for prayer and other events, despite residents' objections. The Waqf (the Muslim religious trust ) has specifically warned against the removal of the scaffolds and opening the site to prayer gatherings, threatening a strong response. Please pray that the Jerusalem municipality will not bow down to Muslim pressure on this or any issue
5. World in an Uproar as Israeli Company Demolishes Vacant Jerusalem Hotel Israel Today News Jan 11th
A routine demolition of an old and vacant building to make way for new development. In any other city or country it would go almost unnoticed, but when such an event involves Jews and Israel and Jerusalem, it is suddenly cause for international consternation. And so the world was in an uproar this week when the historic Shepherd Hotel in the eastern Jerusalem neighborhood of Sheikh Jarrah was torn down so that construction could begin on 20 new apartments that will likely be sold or rented to Jews. Before getting riled up over the tearing down of historic landmarks, note that the Shepherd Hotel was not famous for a good reason. The structure was built as a residence by the World War II-era Palestinian religious leader Haj Amin al-Husseini, a known collaborator with the Nazi regime and personal confidante of Adolf Hitler. Ownership of the building changed hands several times during the preceding decades, until it was finally bought in 1985 by Jewish American businessman Irving Moskowitz. It has taken until now for Moskowitz to secure authorization to build what he wants on his own property due to political concerns. As far as the US and Europe are concerned, Moskowitz should never have been granted such freedom, and in fact should never have been permitted to buy the property in the first place.
A document circulated among the 25 European Union consuls general in Jerusalem this week lamented that “if current trends are not stopped as a matter of urgency, the prospect of east Jerusalem as the future capital of a Palestinian state becomes increasingly unlikely and unworkable.” The Europeans determined that they must do more to intervene and halt the spreading Jewish presence in the Jews’ ancient capital. US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton also voiced discontent with the demolition, insisting that it undermines American efforts to yet again restart stalled peace talks. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office (PMO) on Monday issued a statement reminding the international community that Israel is a democracy, and in a democracy people are free to purchase and develop property regardless of race, religion or creed. There should be no expectation that the State of Israel will impose a ban on Jews purchasing private property in Jerusalem. No democratic government would impose such a ban on Jews and Israel will certainly not do so,” read the statement. “Just as Arab residents of Jerusalem can buy or rent property in predominantly Jewish neighborhoods in Jerusalem, Jews can buy or rent property in predominantly Arab neighborhoods in Jerusalem,” the PM added.
Please pray that your nation's government will recognise Jerusalem as the eternal capital of Israel

For those of you who insist that it is the "settlements" preventing peace in the middle east -- Think Again! 7. Internet Evangelism Increases in Israel Israel Today News Jan 10th
We first wrote about One For Israel last summer, highlighting the unique work of a small group of Israeli Messianic Jews to reach their countrymen with the message of Yeshua (Jesus) via the Internet. Eitan, the founder of One For Israel, contacted Israel Today to report that 2010 had seen “some interesting statistics and encourging stories,” and that the group is planning some dynamic additions for the coming year. One For Israel’s primary agenda is to encourage fellow believers abroad to donate just $1 a month which is then used to purchase online advertising pointing to one of the group’s four evangelism websites. During the first two weeks of December 2010, for example, One For Israel was able to spend $650 on Facebook advertising, which sent nearly 4,500 Israelis to their websites. In other words, explained Eitan, “for every $1 donation more than 6 Israelis were exposed to the truth!”
The most popular of the group’s websites is iGod.co.il, a website geared more toward average “secular” Israelis looking for something deeper out of life. It couples well with another of their websites, medabrim.co.il, a site that features a whole library of video testimonials and teachings. xRabbi.co.il targets those Israelis with a more Orthodox Jewish background, and a fourth website whose URL is written in Hebrew allows visitors to either download or order a print copy of the New Testament, for free. Eitan and the group insist that this is a prime avenue for reaching Israelis with the Gospel, noting that Israelis on average spend about twice as much time on the Internet as Americans. And many of them are searching for God, as evidenced by the fact that every month Israelis search in Hebrew. Please pray for much fruit from these internet campaigns in Israel
